É uma exigência de licenciamento, e por um bom motivo: crianças estão entre as mais vulneráveis a engasgos, reações alérgicas e lesões. Estar preparado para intervir pode mudar tudo.

O que Nigeria exige

Nigeria's National Minimum Standard for Early Child Care Centres (2007) lists first-aid materials and qualified staff among the minimum conditions a centre must meet, alongside staffing ratios for the youngest age groups. It does not, however, spell out a mandatory first-aider certification or a renewal cycle. The intent of the standard is clear all the same: the adults responsible for infants and toddlers should be equipped and able to handle an emergency.

Epinephrine auto-injectors are not available nationally and rely on importation, and no rule requires a Nigerian centre to keep them. With emergency medication hard to guarantee, the real protection lies in a caregiver who can recognise a severe allergic reaction quickly, summon emergency help, and give any prescribed medicine — with the parents' consent — stored safely out of reach.
