寄养家庭:急救与心肺复苏标准
First Aid & CPR Nigeria
Becoming a foster parent in Nigeria means providing a temporary, safe home to a child in need of care. Being able to handle everyday emergencies — through a recognized first-aid and CPR certificate — is part of the readiness expected of a carer, alongside the social welfare assessment.
急救要求
In Nigeria, foster care sits within the Child Rights Act, 2003, which is domesticated and applied differently by each state, so approval, screening and any training are handled by state ministries of women affairs and social development rather than a single national standard. No provision names first aid on its own, but a current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected so carers can respond to injuries, choking or cardiac arrest.
Placement and oversight rest with the relevant state social welfare authority and, where required, the court, which assess the home and the carer's suitability. A first-aid certificate is one element of readiness — kept current — in addition to the assessment, and never a substitute for it.
